The Matriculation Syllabus is followed, so that the children are fully equipped with adequate knowledge to compete in all kinds of examinations conducted in the indian educational system.
 
II Language:
     Tamil or Hindi or French is taught as second language. Hindi or Tamil or French also taught as third language apart from second language.
 
Co-Curricular activities:
Kodaikanal is famous for colorful sceneries.

1. Book Reading :
    The school liabrary helps the children develop in them a good reading habit. Two periods a week are set apart for this purpose. Books from the school library are circulated among the children periodically. 

2. Project Work :
    To bring out the originality of the children they are directed to undertake projects in computer and other subjects. They collect information from various sources on various topics and also make models to exhibit what they have learnt.

3. Competitions :
    Children are given opportunities to take part in competitions held inside and outside the school. Children's talents in skills like writing, speaking, art and craft come out on such occasions.
 
Extra-Curricular Activities :
1. Games : "Sound mind in a Sound body", goes the saying. The children of St Thomas Matriculation School are privileged to play all games in the School campus.
2. Trekking : Once in a term, children are taken on a trekking trip.
3. Karate : Karate is taught to interested children.
4. Music & Dance : Classes are held in Music and Dance after regular school hours.
